Okay, first post and Seffs feels like waxing lyrical. As you might be able to see, I'm the support person online. Medic, Recon, HMG, CoX Def/Corr, whatever. The person who's job is not to get ludicrious kills, per se, but to make you, the front line expendables live longer and kill better. And, to be fair, I like that role. But sometimes, I feel the need to make stuff 'splode good.

And, after 6 years, I still turn to UT2k4 for it. There's something about the game that meshes so very, very well. I recently re-installed it and immediately picked up the Ballistic Weapons mod that I fell in love with the first time around and a few of the bonus packs that other people have added for BW. Now, BW allows you to change the relative damage dealt by it's weapons. I go for 5x vs. players and .8x vs vehicles to make life very interesting. Today, things went one step further. Take one Seffs, 7 Godlike bots and a series of UT2k4's awesome maps. Set Gravity to low. Give them all RPG-7s.

I don't think I've had so much fun in a game for a while. 2k4's beautiful control and low-grav ballet interspersed with wildly corkscrewing instant death rockets in the most insane game of paintball ever. Raw chaos, and the limited RPG ammo only made it funnier as the risk/rewards of trying to catch your victimg's flying weapon for the ammo over the chance of them spawning behind me and vapourising me... Ah, they don't make them like this anymore. or, if they do, I've not found it.

Also, City of Heroes is kicking off it's 6th birthday celebrations. \o/ Union for the win.

tl;dr: UT2k4: Ballistic Weapons is awesome.
